Pygmalion

I missed the cut-off for this week's OzComics mythology-themed challenge. But I've always loved the story of Pygmalion, and used to like staring at the reproduction of Jean-Leon Gerome's painting of the theme at art school, so I had a go anyway. I didn't have much time to work anything up much this week, but it's still a bit of fun.

Couldn't be happier with this week's choice of caricature subject on CS3000 on Facebook, one of my heroes, Tom Waits.

I had to have a go straight away, might have gotten a bit carried away with the textural side of things here, but felt like a lot of fun after the Djokovic one.

SURFACE Exhibition

On Friday, 29th of July, I had my exhibition of surfboard artwork down at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi. It was a great turnout and a fun night, and I managed to sell some boards too. Many thanks to the shapers and stores who provided boards and to the Beach Road Hotel for putting the event on.
